"Merry Belle"

Stitched with Bullions, French Knots, and Cross Stitch

Stitched with Cross Stitch, Continental Stitch, and Beading

Christmas has finally arrived at Blackberry Lane Designs. This woolly sheep with a wreath and a bell charm around its neck is our first Christmas pendant or ornament, which ever you prefer, for the 2009 Holiday Season. The design is called Merry Belle. The back of the pendant is the sheep’s cute backside. This pattern is designed entirely for the novice of cross stitching. I wanted to use many different stitches such as Cross Stitch, French Knots, Bullion Stitch, Continental Stitch, and finishing with a little bit of beading. I just wanted to show how easy it could be if we choose to use our imagination and try different stitches when stitching. For instance one of the sheep I used French Knots for the wreath and berries. The body was done mostly with Bullions with some French Knots. The rest of the pattern was done in Cross Stitch. This pendant was stitched on Zweigart® New Castle 40ct Summer Khaki linen stitching one over one and measuring 1”w x 1½’h using Gentle Arts and Weeks Dye Works over dyes. The pattern comes with the fabric, one acid free board for mounting both designs and a bell charm. You can purchase this pattern with or without a frame.
